Me and coffee

So right now I am sitting in a cafe called latte grande. I am sure that I'll be here more often from now because not only is the coffee good, they also have Internet. As a matter of fact this cafe has inpired me to start keeping track of all the cafes I have been to and am going to go to in the form of a little book. Of course I'll also put all those cafes on here. So keep checking.

I realised that it's quite amusing to be just by yourself from time to time in a big city like Vienna because you get to think a lot and it also made me start this blog.

I always considered blogging as boring and a waste of time but I'm quite enjoying it and hope all of you observers do as well. Even if there probably isn't that many of you. Yet.

Yesterday I was reading this article about the financial crisis the world is in at the moment and it was giving advice on how one can save some money. One of those advices was to not have coffee in cafes anymore and rather make it yourself and take it with you. But where would be the fun of that? I love going to cafes as you might know and do it at least once a week. Wheter it's with friends or just by yourself, cafes are the way forward. You see beautiful people ( yes I am on the lookout), you can observe others, spend a whole day in there, catch up with your friends or just relax. There are so many things that I could think of for what cafes are good for. It's just a luxury that I don't want to miss. At all.

I just bought some books earlier on for university and as the guy was about to put the books into a plasticbag I told him that I have my own bag with me and wouldn't need one. In response he said 'well too late now I already put them in the bag'. I am sure that he was only doing his job but come on the whole world is talking about saving the environment yet anywhere you go they throw plastic at you. As if we couldn't live without it. The other day I was on the British Airways website looking around and when you book a flight they offer you to pay an extra five pound in order to reduce carbon emmission. So I am only waiting for the day where they'll start charging money for not taking a plastic bag in shops.
'Would you like a bag with that?'
'No thanks'
'Well then it's three euros for the groceries and another five for the bag that you're not taking'

The world is full of such hypocritical things and I'll let you know when I find the next one.

For now I'm going to stop writing because I have written this whole post using my iPod and I am starting to feel dizzy. But there's more to come. A lot more.

So stay tuned and maybe comment on some of my posts and add you're own thoughts. It would be highly appreciated.

So far,
Marcel
